It’s been five years since Ray White Norwood sales executive Tristian Kennedy started out in real estate as a fresh faced ‘people person’ straight out of high school.
Now he’s achieved a career milestone, being named as an ‘Elite Performer’ in the Ray White network.
The coveted status recognises the top five per cent of agents across the Ray White international network, with each Elite performer required to settle a minimum of $425,000 in commission or sell 65 properties within a calendar year.
For Tristian, it’s a goal he’s been aspiring to achieve since he first joined Ray White Norwood back in 2017.
Explaining real estate was a career he was naturally drawn to, Tristian notes his family had always remarked he had the gift of the gab while his father was in property development.
Work experience at a real estate agency, which was immediately followed by a job offer, sealed the deal.
“I loved it so much, I convinced my parents I should drop out of school,” he says.
They may not have been thrilled at the time, but Tristian’s leap of faith quickly paid off and he joined the Ray White team soon after.
At that stage, Ray White Norwood comprised a small group of ambitious agents led by principal and top performer Jason Spagnuolo.
They were a tight-knit team looking to make their mark with a customer-first approach to real estate.
Working tirelessly on behalf of buyers and sellers, the group quickly became a breeding ground for high-performing agents who were renowned for both their service and results.
“I owe my success to both Jason and Sam,” Tristian reflects.
“When I started, I had minimal experience and was in need of a mentor. He took me under his wing, and I worked my way up the ranks.”
From the outset, Tristian says he “loved” his role and the ethos of Ray White Norwood.
“They taught me this incredible work ethic, along with how the industry works,” he notes.
While Ray White Norwood might have provided the training and support, it was Tristian’s drive to achieve that saw him quickly transition from sales associate to an agent in his own right.
In the early days, he’d stay back after hours to make calls and touch base with buyers and sellers, building contacts within his community who came to rely on him as a trusted property advisor.
And he remembers his first sale like it was yesterday.
Tristian was working his way through a pile of manilla folders, touching base with people to update them on market conditions.
“It wasn’t a lucky day, few people were answering the phones,” Tristian says.
“I decided I’d make just 10 more calls and happened to speak to a gentleman who was looking to sell.”
Tristian appraised the property and listed it, selling it within a couple of weeks.
It was the beginning of what would quickly prove an illustrious career, built on a commitment to working with his clients to consistently achieve their aims.
Glowing reviews and testimonials offer an insight into this dedication, with client’s repeatedly remarking on Tristian’s knowledge, expertise, and people skills.
Along the way he’s forged friendships with buyers and sellers built on open communication, regular contact, and real results.
Tristian’s Elite status comes after his first year as a solo agent and is testament to the hard work he puts into every sale he handles.
It also bodes well for a young agent who is still in the early days of what looks to be a stellar career.
Remaking on Tristian’s recent success, Ray White Norwood principal Jason Spagnuolo notes it is well-deserved but comes as little surprise.
He explains from the outset Tristian has understood that a career in real estate rewards the effort an agent puts in and is first and foremost about dedicating yourself to the needs of clients.
As for the future, Tristian is now building a team of his own team within the growing Ray White Norwood office and is looking to take his commitment to customer service to the next level.
While Elite status is an accolade he’s thrilled to have received, Tristian notes he is most proud of the relationships he has established with buyers and sellers along the way.
“I love the chase of real estate, but more than that I genuinely enjoy helping people achieve their property goals so they can move on with the next chapter of their lives.”
